The project
Complete replacement of 18 windows on a detached villa in the EUR district of Rome. A mix of Salamander BlueEvolution 82 PVC windows on the upper floors and LMT 92 aluminium French doors on the ground floor for the living area. 10-year guarantee.
The context
A detached villa in the EUR district of Rome, an area of wide streets and mid-century architecture where large glazed openings onto private gardens are common. The brief covered 18 windows across the property: smaller openings on the upper floors and a wide glazed connection between the living area and the garden on the ground floor, alongside a general need to bring an older, single-glazed specification up to current standards.
The technical solution
The upper floors were fitted with Salamander BlueEvolution 82 PVC windows, a deeper profile chosen for its higher thermal-break performance on a building with significant glazed surface area. The ground floor living area was specified in LMT 92 aluminium French doors, selected for the slimmer sightlines and structural stiffness needed on the largest glazed leaves connecting the interior to the garden. Low-emissivity double glazing was used throughout, and all units carry a 10-year guarantee.
The outcome
The mixed PVC-and-aluminium specification let the villa keep large, light-filled openings on the ground floor while achieving a markedly better thermal envelope than the original windows, improving both winter comfort and summer stability without sacrificing natural light. As with all LMT supply projects in Italy, the windows and doors were manufactured to measure and delivered ready for installation by the client's chosen fitting team, with full technical documentation.
